About
The Pregnancy Pages
I am a mom of
one: Sophie, a very healthy, bright, 3 year old
with a flair for drama.. I experienced a really
easy pregnancy with her … but even so, there
were a few scares: a bit of spotting; an
ultrasound showing an inadequate amount of
amniotic fluid (Sophie had been hiding it
somewhere behind her); and another time my
blood pressure was a little high… because of
these incidents, I was able to get into the
Fetal Assessment Unit at the local hospital for
extra care and monitoring (which was great as I
was able to find out the sex of the baby and
have a lot more ultrasounds done … so lots of
pictures for Sophie's album). I was a week
overdue with Sophie and had to be induced. The
delivery wasn’t too bad and fairly fast. I did
try breast-feeding and couldn’t stick with it
for numerous reasons (though I really wanted
to). With that pregnancy, I had the typical
anxieties that women have with a first
pregnancy. I had issues with constipation after
Sophie's birth and post-partum depression, in
addition to other things. But all in all, it was
a good pregnancy and a good birth and Sophie is
everything I could have ever wanted her to be
and I so enjoyed being pregnant with her… it was
a very neat feeling.
I then got
pregnant again shortly after Sophie turned 2. I
got through the first 3 months and then had a
missed miscarriage which turned out to really be
a partial molar pregnancy, a fairly rare type of
pregnancy.
I am now hoping
to be pregnant again very soon and can’t wait.
I am hoping that
throughout The Pregnancy Pages web site pages,
you will find all the information that you need.
I also recommend specific books, products and
resources on my web pages that my be of interest
to you, either now or when you have a little one
around. Any products or books that I recommend,
I either have personally used or reviewed or
just have a really good feeling about.
My best advice,
though, is always go with your instincts and
intuition… if you feel you are pregnant – take a
test and/or see a doctor… if you are pregnant
and feel that something is wrong… get to a
doctor right away… it is your body and only you
know how you really feel.
All the best with
your pregnancy choices and experiences,
